2025 Nissan Ariya
This section is primarily for Camille. It covers charging at home, away from home,
car wash setup, and who to call if something goes wrong.
Charging at Home
Under normal circumstances, no commands are necessary. Just plug the car in and walk away β
it will charge on its own on the lowest-rate electricity schedule.
- Need a full charge right away: Plug in, then say "Alexa, charge the car now."
- Need a full charge by morning: Plug in, then say "Alexa, charge the car to 100% overnight."
- Need it fully charged immediately: Plug in, then say "Alexa, charge the car to 100%."
Charging Away from Home
The Ariya uses a J1772 / CCS connector β the standard for most non-Tesla electric cars in North America. Use apps like PlugShare or ChargePoint to find nearby stations.

Using the LECTRON Adapter (Tesla chargers)
The LECTRON Tesla-to-J1772 adapter is stored in the trunk with the portable charger.
- Attach the adapter to the Tesla cable first.
- Wait about 30 seconds for it to initialize.
- Plug into the car normally.
Always verify Tesla station compatibility on PlugShare before counting on a specific location.
Quick Specs
- Full charge on home wall charger: ~14 hours
- DC fast charge (public station): 10% β 80% in ~40 minutes
- Range on full charge: ~289 miles
Going Through a Car Wash
The car must be set up correctly before entering an automatic car wash, in this order:
- Foot on brake β without holding the side button, push and hold the shifter up to put the car in Neutral.
- Turn off Auto Hold: button is to the left of the driver's knee, fourth lit feature from the left.
- Turn off windshield wipers: push the wiper stick all the way up and release.
- Turn off parking brake: button to the right of the driver's knee β indicator light should be off.
If It Won't Charge
- Is the cable fully seated in the car? (You'll hear a click and see a dash light.)
- Is the Wallbox charger lit up? It should show a steady light when idle, different color when charging.
- Automation may be waiting for a cheaper electricity rate β override by saying "Alexa, charge the car now."
- Try unplugging and replugging the cable from the car.
